Are you looking for an affordable option for wedding, event, or portrait photography? I am a part-time photographer who has been shooting for pay since 2009. Because I'm still building my portfolio and don't have the expenses of a studio, I can charge less. True, I don't have a degree from a prestigious photography school, but I give you what you need to make beautiful prints and albums yourself: great digital originals. When my wife and I were planning our Ithaca wedding in 2006, we didn't want (and couldn't afford) the typical packages offered by the local photo studios. We wanted a single, talented photographer with an appropriate digital SLR camera and lenses who would capture a lot of great images and give us all the digital files. We knew how to take care of the printing ourselves, thank you very much.The wedding and event photo service I offer to clients is exactly what we were looking for in 2006. I take wonderful digital images of your event, perform basic technical corrections on them, and give you all the keepers as full-size jpeg files on one or more DVDs within one week. They are yours to crop and print as you like on your home printer or through one of the many convenient printing services (Walmart, Shutterfly, Apple iPhoto, etc.). I also provide at no extra cost upload of the best of your photos to a private gallery on my Flickr Pro site. Here they are visible and downloadable to anyone you give access, but not to the general public. I tailor my photography to what YOU want and make sure I know what that is well before the event. I scout out your location ahead of time so I'll know where to set up formal and portrait shots and how to be at the right place at the right time during the ceremony. Together, we'll capture images you'll return to again and again. For 2012 weddings booked before April 1, I charge a flat rate of $650 for a full day of shooting, basic editing, and the photo DVD of hundreds of images. These will include whatever arranged, portrait-style photos you'd like of the bride & groom, the wedding party and family members, and as many photojournalistic candid shots as I can click off. Fees for other events will vary according to the length of the job. (My rate will go up after April 1, so lock me in soon!)I think my work is competitive with that of others who charge a lot more. In addition to weddings and other events, consider me for outdoor engagement and portait photography. I love to photograph families and children.Most jobs I take are within 30 miles or so of Ithaca, NY where I live.
